"Journey Together: Cancer Survivorship Conference 2013"
Journey Together is a cancer survivorhsip conference that focuses on issues important to cancer survivors and their caregivers. A variety of speakers will sahre their expertise on topics such as nutrition, long-term effects, care giving, completmentary and alternative therapy, social support and fear of recurrence.
Attendees can meet, support and share hope withother survivors and caregivers, as well as learn about services offered by various commuinity and cancer organizations.
Hawai'i College of Oriental Medicine is sharing about Acupuncture and the role of chinese herbs as an adjunct treatment in partnership with an Oncologist. Assistant Dean, William Pettis, LAc will be offering free acupuncture treatments to attendees. William is an expert is the use of chinese herbs to support chemotherapy and reduce the side effects of cancer treatments. He offers an elective series on TCM Oncology for students of HICOM and treats patients in the HICOM Clinic.
